BREAKING: Kaduna govt reinstates commitment to strengthen healthcare delivery

Governor Uba Sani has reiterated his administration’s unwavering commitment to improving healthcare services in Kaduna State, emphasizing that access to quality healthcare is a fundamental right for all citizens.

Speaking at the commissioning of a newly established pharma-grade warehouse in Makera, Kaduna South Local Government Area, the governor highlighted the facility’s role in enhancing healthcare delivery across the state.

He noted that the warehouse would improve the availability, storage, and distribution of essential medical supplies, ultimately benefiting residents’ overall well-being.

Governor Sani also pointed out that Kaduna State’s efforts in healthcare development have gained both national and international recognition, earning ten awards, including the prestigious Excellence Award from the International Supply Chain Education Alliance (ISCEA).

He further emphasized that Kaduna had been acknowledged as the top-performing state in the North West region for primary healthcare services under the PHC Leadership Challenge in Abuja.

“This warehouse symbolizes our administration’s dedication to ensuring the consistent availability of critical health commodities,” he said. “By strengthening the supply chain, we are guaranteeing that essential medications and medical supplies reach communities across the state.”

The governor revealed that Kaduna was among the first states to fulfill its 15% counterpart funding commitment for upgrading the warehouse. He assured that similar improvements would be made to identified warehouses in Zones 1 and 3 to bring them up to pharma-grade standards, ensuring wider accessibility to quality healthcare products.

Governor Sani also expressed appreciation to key development partners, including the Global Fund and UNICEF, for their continued support. He acknowledged the contributions of Fidson Healthcare in organizing the warehouse’s storage system and Emzor Group for providing insurance coverage for the facility.

“These partnerships have significantly strengthened the Kaduna State Health Supplies Management Agency, positioning it for further integration into the broader healthcare system,” he added.
