The Senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District, Lawal Usman, has urged Muslims to use the occasion to pray for an end to insecurity, hardship, and economic challenges in the country.

In a statement issued on the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr in Kaduna on Sunday, Usman emphasized the importance of prayer in overcoming the challenges facing country.

The lawmaker also called on Muslims to pray for the country’s leaders to be granted the knowledge, wisdom, and will power to address these challenges.

Usman emphasized the importance of sustaining the virtues of charity, good neighborliness, and tolerance beyond the Ramadan period

He said, “On this auspicious occasion of the 2025 Eid-el-Fitr, I want to enjoin the Muslim ummah to use this period of the Sallah celebrations to pray for an end to insecurity, hardship, and economic challenges in our various communities and the country as a whole.

“I also enjoin all Muslims to use the occasion of this year’s Sallah to pray for Nigeria and her leaders at all levels for Allah to grant them the knowledge, wisdom, and willpower to address all these challenges confronting the country.

“As Muslims, in the past 30 days, we have all lived a life of self-denial, refrained from negative behaviors and conducts as well as other acts contradictory to the teachings of Islam, as enjoined by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).”

Usman advised Muslims to continue living peacefully with other Nigerians, emulate the Holy Prophet Muhammad’s example, and eschew conducts that could instigate communal and religious conflicts.

“We must continue to live peacefully with other Nigerians by emulating the Holy Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), who lived peacefully with the adherents of other religions in Madina,” he said.

The lawmaker also assured his constituents that he would continue to work tirelessly to implement beneficial programs and projects for the common good of all people in the senatorial district.

“I pledge to continue to work assiduously to make life better for all the good people of Kaduna Central Senatorial District and practically alleviate the suffering of the less privileged, too,” he said.

This was as he charged all Nigerians to eschew the selfish promotion of personal, group, sectarian, and other interests, and rather promote harmony and tolerance in their relationships with other citizens at all times.

“Selfishness, greed, and corruption should not be tolerated in our relationships with one another,” he added.

Usman also emphasized the importance of remembering those who are less fortunate than themselves, saying “we must always remember those who are less fortunate than ourselves and strive to make a positive impact in their lives.”
