The Katsina State Hisbah Board has announced a statewide ban on nightclub activities, citing Islamic principles and the need to uphold moral values.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Hisbah Commander-General, Dr. Aminu Usman (Abu Ammar), directed nightclub owners to shut down their establishments, emphasizing the need to curb immoral practices, safeguard societal values, and address security concerns.
“The board has warned that violators will face strict penalties, and security agencies have been instructed to ensure full compliance with the order,” Usman stated.
He confirmed that relevant security agencies, including the state Commissioner for Internal Security, have been notified to enforce the directive.
“This move aligns with Hisbah’s broader efforts to ensure that residents live in accordance with religious and moral standards,” he added.
