BREAKING: Kidnappers Kill Ex-Immigration Controller General

David Shikfu Parradang, former Comptroller-General of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), has been tragically killed by kidnappers in Abuja.

According to counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama, Parradang was abducted in the Area 1 neighbourhood of Abuja during the early hours of Tuesday.

Makama revealed that the assailants had trailed Parradang from a bank, where he had withdrawn cash. They seized the money before ultimately murdering him.

“This tragic incident has heightened concerns about security in the Federal Capital Territory, particularly in relation to the rising incidents of kidnappings and targeted attacks,” Makama stated in a post.

Parradang had an illustrious career in the NIS, serving for over 30 years and holding various posts across Nigeria, including that of Comptroller-General. His tenure took him to Kano, Lagos, Kwara, Enugu, and the Federal Capital Territory. He also completed several professional courses both domestically and internationally.

In recognition of his dedicated service, he was honoured as an Officer of the Order of the Federal Republic (OFR) and was a distinguished graduate of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS).

Security agencies have reportedly initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his abduction and subsequent killing, with ongoing efforts to apprehend the perpetrators.

While the Nigerian Immigration Service has yet to confirm this tragic development, an official at the Immigration headquarters in Abuja stated, “The report is accurate, but we must await an official publication from Immigration authorities.”
