Lagos State House of Assembly Speaker, Mojisola Meranda, has denied rumors of her resignation, calling them baseless.
Meranda’s Chief Press Secretary, Segun Ajiboye, debunked the rumour on Wednesday, stating, “I’m in the office. The speaker is in the office. I don’t know where that is coming from”.
The rumour began circulating online, with a circular allegedly released by Meranda dated February 17, 2025, claiming she had resigned.
However, upon closer inspection, the letter was found to be unsigned.
This development comes amidst a leadership crisis in the Lagos Assembly, which began after former Speaker Mudashiru was removed by a majority of lawmakers.
