The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mojisola Meranda, has denied rumours that she has resigned from her position.
Her Chief Press Secretary, Segun Ajiboye, clarified on Wednesday that the information is false.
He stated that both he and the Speaker were at work and had no idea where the rumour originated.
The rumour started after an unsigned circular, dated February 17, 2025, began circulating on social media, claiming that Meranda had resigned.
However, investigations revealed that the letter was not officially signed, making it unreliable.
The Lagos State House of Assembly has been experiencing a leadership crisis since the former Speaker, Mudashiru Obasa, was removed by a majority of the lawmakers.
Meranda has assured the public that she remains in office, and more updates on the situation will be provided later.
