Super Eagles of Nigerian defender Leon Balogun has shared an emotional farewell message to Glasgow Rangers fans, confirming that his time with the Light Blues is drawing to a close.
Leon Balogun’s contract with the club is set to expire at the end of June, and the management has decided not to extend his tenure.
The out-of-favour Nigerian international rejoined Rangers two years ago, marking his second stint with the team after his initial spell from 2020 to 2021.
Since returning, Leon Balogun has proven to be a reliable centre-back, contributing significantly to the squad’s defensive strength.
In his heartfelt message posted on social media, Balogun expressed his gratitude and nostalgia: “It’s that time again. No caption could capture all that is swirling through my mind as I write these lines.
“It has been nothing short of an honour, a pleasure, and a tremendous privilege to represent this massive club, not once, but twice.”
During his first period at Scottish side, Glasgow Rangers, Balogun made 65 appearances and was part of the squad that celebrated lifting the Scottish Cup.
