The swearing in by Governor Alia comes shortly after his colleague in Rivers State, Sim Fubara did same.

Speaking at the swearing in ceremony, Alia urged the new chairmen to ensure they carry out their responsibilities with accountability and transparency.

Recall that the All Progressives Congress (APC) had cleared all the 23 23 chairmanship and 276 councillorship positions in the state.

Noting that the elected officials must be committed to serving the people, Alia urged them to ensure they collaborate with government at the state and federal level to deliver good governance.

The governor said, “This event marks a significant movement in the life and future of LG administration in Benue, especially as it concerns people at the grassroots who came out in their numbers on Saturday overwhelmingly to choose you at the polls.

“Be reminded that leadership is about service and sacrifice and not personal glory,” he said.

Also speaking, Dennis Guda of Vandiekya LGA who represented the newly elected chairmen assured the people of delivering quality service and good governance.

Guda also promised to remain loyal to the APC while upholding the party’s constitution and collaborate with the state government to succeed.
