BREAKING: Man impersonating Police sergeant arrested in Ogun

The Ogun State Police Command has apprehended a 52-year-old man, Harry Collins, for allegedly impersonating a police officer while fully dressed in a sergeant’s uniform.

According to the state command’s spokesperson, CSP Omolola Odutola, the arrest took place on Thursday, February 20, 2025, around 2:10 pm during a routine patrol led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Operations) along the Long Bridge section of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

Officers on duty reportedly became suspicious of Collins’ presence at the location, prompting an immediate inquiry that led to his arrest.

Odutola said, “Upon interrogation at the station, Collins was unable to provide a satisfactory explanation for his impersonation, raising further suspicion about his activities.

“Investigations are ongoing to determine his motives and any potential criminal involvement.

“The suspect will be charged to court upon completion of the investigation. The Ogun State Police Command warns the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious individuals posing as police officers”.
