BREAKING: Many killed as bandits attack 5 communities in Plateau

Several people have been reportedly killed in a fresh bandits’ attack on five different communities in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The attackers were said to have shot and killed a total of 10 people while injuring several other residents of the communities on Wednesday, April 2, 2025.

Confirming the killings, the Chairman of the Bokkos Cultural Development Council (BCDC), Farmasum Fuddang said the attackers invaded the communities barely six days after an attack in Ruwi.

According to Fuddang, 10 people were also killed in the previous attack while three others were injured at the venue of a wake-keep event in the community.

He said, “There were attacks yesterday affecting five villages. It started in Mongor, but security forces repelled the attackers. They then moved to Daffo, where security also intervened. After Daffo, they targeted Manguna, Hurti, and Tadai villages.”

He also stated that, within the space of one week, over 20 members of different villages in the LGA have been killed by bandits.

While sympathising with families of those killed, the BCDC chairman commended the Nigerian Military and other security agents for their prompt response towards these attacks.

In addition, the governor of Plateau State has condemned the attack in Mangor Tamiso, Daffo, Manguna (Tagai), Hurti, and Tadai communities of Bokkos LGA of the state on the night of April 2.
