It has now emerged that Marcus Rashford was sent home a day after he was dropped from the squad that faced Manchester City.
Rashford has been in the news since Sunday for a whole lot of different reasons. Manchester United coach Ruben Amorim axed him from his squad for his first Manchester derby.
Why Rashford was dropped for Manchester derby
The former Sporting Lisbon man appeared to question Rashford’s and Alejandro Garnacho’s professionalism in training.
Despite the brutal snub, Rashford joined in the celebrations after his teammates pulled an impressive turnaround to beat their rivals 2-1.
Why Rashford was sent home
Mail Online now reports that Rashford was sent back home after reporting for training on Monday, a day after the derby.
The report indicates that the England international was checked by the team doctor and adjudged to be of high fever. He was, therefore, sent back home to recover.
Marcus Rashford admits he could leave Manchester United
On Tuesday, the 27-year-old visited his former primary school, where he met with journalist Henry Winter.
It is here where he admitted that he was considering ‘new challenges’ by leaving Manchester United.
“For me, personally, I think I’m ready for a new challenge and the next steps. When I leave, it’s going to be ‘no hard feelings’. If I know that a situation is already bad, I’m not going to make it worse.”
It is unknown whether he would be fit to face Tottenham Hotspur in the Carabao Cup on Thursday.
Clubs Marcus Rashford could join
Legit has also reported that Rashford’s days at Old Trafford are numbered as Manchester United are determined to part ways with the England forward as quickly as possible.
The 27-year-old forward was dropped from the Red Devils squad for their derby victory against Manchester City after it was alleged he was out partying all night before the game.
Arsenal, Chelsea, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, and maybe a transfer to the Saudi Pro League are the possible destinations for Rashford when he leaves Man United.
