BREAKING: Meta reveals plans to invest $65bn to expand AI infrastructure in 2025

Meta (previously the Facebook company) has revealed that it would invest between $60 billion and $65 billion by 2025, in order to enhance its AI infrastructure.

The company has announced large investments to take advantage of artificial intelligence developments, joining other prominent U.S. tech companies in doing so.

In addition to confirming the move, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg called 2025 “a defining year for AI” and stated that the initiative would see Meta build a 2-gigawatt data center that “would cover a significant part of Manhattan” to power its AI offerings.

Zuckerberg also stated that the company’s proposed plans for 2025 call for adding 1 gigawatt of computing power and ending the year with more than 1.3 billion CPUs.

“This is a massive effort,” Zuckerberg wrote in a post on Facebook.

“And over the coming years, it will drive our core products and business, unlock historic innovation, and extend American technology leadership”, he added.
