The mother of the 3-year-old boy who was abused by a teacher identified as Mrs Stella Nwadigo opens up on the series of maltreatment issues under her care.
The incident at a private school in Ikorodu where the child’s mother also works has sparked outrage following a viral video capturing the teacher inflicting pain on the child.
In a brief interview conducted in Yoruba, the mother of the child expressed her anguish over the repeated maltreatment of her son.
She revealed:
“I am also a worker in the school where the teacher beat my son. That was not the first time she would be doing that. I reported to the school, but they didn’t do anything. I am by myself because his dad had passed away. I do menial jobs for a living. I want justice for my son and I want Nigerians to help me with his education.”
Despite the challenges, the mother’s plea has drawn attention to her struggles as a single parent and her determination to secure a better future for her child.
The public has rallied around the grieving mother, with many calling for swift justice and support for the boy’s education.
