A devastating fire has engulfed the Yar-Dole motorcycle market in Gusau, the capital of Zamfara State, as firefighters struggle to bring the inferno under control.
The blaze, which ignited this evening, has left traders and residents in shock as multiple shops and stalls succumb to the flames.
According to eyewitness accounts reported by Channels TV, the fire spread rapidly throughout the market, a vital hub for motorcycles and spare parts in the state. The cause of the fire remains unknown.
“We don’t know what started the fire; we just saw flames erupting from the motorcycle shops, but the fire service is still working to extinguish it,” one witness told the newspaper.
At the scene, many traders and shop owners were seen frantically trying to salvage their belongings, but their efforts were in vain against the raging fire.
Emergency responders from the Zamfara State Fire Service arrived shortly after the fire was reported and are engaged in efforts to extinguish the flames and prevent them from spreading further.
