BREAKING: Muoma Reveals “The president removed subsidy on petroleum products because of his personal interest in oil”

In a recent report published by the Sun, Chief Chuks Muoma, a distinguished Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) and respected elder statesman, reaffirmed that ineffective leadership is the main cause of the country’s economic problems.

As the Chairman of the Igbo Lawyers Association (ILA), Chief Muoma spared no words in criticizing individuals in positions of authority as politically incompetent opportunists who lack the vision to create policies that will further the country.

In response to the notion that the country cannot be steered back towards economic growth and development, particularly as the current administration urges patience for its policies to take effect, Chief Muoma raised pertinent questions about the capabilities and motivations of the individual occupying the presidency. He challenged the assumption that overseeing the development of Lagos alone qualifies one to manage the complexities of governing Nigeria. Chief Muoma decried the prevalence of personal ambition and entitlement in Nigerian politics, emphasizing the need for leadership based on merit and competency rather than a mere “my turn” mentality.

Expressing his dismay at the state of Nigerian politics, Chief Muoma lamented the focus on personal gain rather than national upliftment. He criticized the removal of subsidies on petroleum products, attributing it to the president’s personal interests.

He said: “The president removed subsidy on petroleum products because of his personal interest in the oil sector in which his family is a key player. Talking politics in Nigeria makes me sad. I am not ashamed to say it rather I am ashamed that my country is in such a mess because of politics.”
