BREAKING: My kids grew up without me and I have not seen my wife for close to 5 years since July 2019 -According to Sowore

It is well known that Omoyele Sowore, the AAC’s previous presidential candidate, was detained at a protest in August 2019 and charged with treason by the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari. The federal government, led by Tinubu, has withdrawn its accusations against Sowore.

Sowore considered the personal costs of his advocacy in a recent interview with Arise TV. He talked about the psychological toll that came with being away from his family, not seeing his wife for over five years, and missing important life events for his kids. Sowore noted that despite these difficulties, he had expected them when he decided to pursue activism.

In Sowore’s words: “My kids grew up without me and I have not seen my wife for close to 5 years since July 2019. But I have weathered the storm because I know that if you go in the direction that I chose in life, this is going to happen to you. And this is not the first time, it happened to me in the university, I ended up spending 6 years instead of 4 years at the University of Lagos. So nothing new here, this arrest and several other arrests and several attempts on my life have been made”.
