A storekeeper at the university Wigwe was developing has opened out about the kind of man the late chief executive officer of Access Holdings Plc, Herbert Wigwe, was to the staff, as accolades to Wigwe continue to come in.

Shuaibu Tijani, a Kogi State native, reportedly stated in a Vanguard article that he makes N65,000. However, Wigwe always made everyone happy when he visited the construction site. He added that everyone was saddened by his loss and that he loves to see everyone happy.

Speaking further, Tijani who is a father of two said that the late Wigwe employed thousands of people to work in his university, and irrespective of where one came from, he did not discriminate.

He said, “He employed thousands of people to work in this university. This man did not discriminate against anybody no matter where you are from. My salary is N65,000, but whenever the messiah came here, everybody was very happy. He liked to see people happy. His death has taken away our happiness and joy.”

Wigwe died in the United States after the helicopter he was in crashed. He died alongside his wife and son.

His death had sparked reactions from members of the public, and many had taken to social media to recount their encounters with him. Many Nigerians had called on the authorities to conduct an investigation into what led to the crash.

Following his death, his Isiokpo community in Rivers State had declared a seven-day mourning in his honor.
