Breaking News: JAMB Announces the Release of 2025 UTME Resit Results!

The 2025 UTME resit results have been officially announced by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), following disruptions experienced at several testing centers. JAMB shared the news via its verified X (formerly Twitter) account on Sunday, with a statement from Dr. Fabian Benjamin, the Public Relations Officer of the board. The statement acknowledged the support of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), which facilitated the window for candidates to retake the exam.

While addressing ongoing concerns, JAMB condemned the proliferation of digital examination fraud, which continues to threaten the integrity of the process amidst various conspiracy theories and misinformation circulating among some Nigerians.

The board revealed that during the 2025 examinations, authorities uncovered significant malpractice activities, resulting in the cancellation of certain results and the arrest of multiple individuals nationwide. Some suspects have provided useful confessions.

Among the misconduct identified are collaborations between certain Computer-Based Test (CBT) centers and school operators, often with the complicity of authorized centers, to hack into the networks of targeted examination centers. This has enabled malicious actors to control candidates’ computers remotely, submitting responses directly to local servers—an issue recently brought to light by security agencies, whom JAMB commends.

Despite these threats, the board assured the public that its central server remains secure and resistant to breaches.

Additional fraudulent tactics include the use of artificial intelligence to blend images of impersonators with genuine candidates, many of whom are current undergraduates. There have also been attempts to manipulate registration data through fingerprint amalgamation, using multiple individuals’ fingerprints to register a single candidate.

JAMB disclosed that examination centers’ local area networks (LANs) have been extended to remote storage facilities known as “strong rooms.” It was also found that some candidates were paired with professional agents—often after intentional disruptions that affect seating arrangements.

In total, over 3,000 candidates across Nigeria have been identified either as participants or beneficiaries of these extensive cheating schemes. The board emphasized that ongoing investigations will lead to the withdrawal of results for any candidate found guilty beyond reasonable doubt, regardless of whether results have already been published.

JAMB remains committed to maintaining the integrity of the examination process and safeguarding the future of Nigeria’s educational system.
