BREAKING: NFF Sets Deadline For CAF B-License Registration, Confirms Weekend Dates For President Federation Cup Finals

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has announced that the deadline for registration for the upcoming CAF B-License Coaching Course is midnight on Tuesday, 25th February 2025. The four-month programme is scheduled to run from April to August this year.

NFF Technical Director, Coach Augustine Eguavoen, emphasised that the course is aimed at enhancing the capacity of Nigerian coaches, preparing them for both present and future challenges. It is open to both male and female coaches who meet the eligibility criteria.

Eguavoen stated that the CAF B-License course is part of NFF’s strategic effort to build the capacity of coaches across the country and will be delivered in modules. The course will take place between 7th April and 25th August 2025. To be eligible, candidates must be active coaches, possess a CAF C-License certificate that has been used in the past two years, be proficient in reading and writing in English, have basic computer skills and a laptop, possess a valid Gmail account, and submit a medical certificate proving physical and mental fitness.

He noted that the response has been overwhelming, prompting the NFF to bring the deadline forward. The new registration deadline is midnight of Tuesday, 25th February 2025.

In 2024, the NFF successfully organised the first-ever CAF C-License programme exclusively for women, which saw participation from 30 female coaches, including several former Nigeria international players. The three-module course ran from July to September 2024.

The Nigeria Football Federation has also mandated that all 36 States and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) must hold the final matches of their 2025 President Federation Cup competition on Saturday, 22nd February or Sunday, 23rd February 2025.

In a statement addressed to secretaries of State Football Associations, NFF’s Director of Competitions, Ruth David, reiterated that final matches are to be played only on 22nd or 23rd February, except in special cases as approved by the NFF. Failure to adhere to this directive will result in a fine of N1,000,000 (One million naira only).

The National Play-Offs for this year’s competition have been scheduled for 5th March, with the National Draw set to take place a week later. The Round of 64 is scheduled for 19th March, the Round of 32 for 2nd April, and the Round of 16 for 16th April 2025. The quarter-finals are slated for 3rd and 4th May, with the semi-finals fixed for 17th and 18th May 2025.

The NFF remains committed to maintaining strict adherence to the tournament schedule to ensure a smooth and efficient competition.
