BREAKING: NGO Champions Women’s Representation In Corporate Leadership

The HR for Her 2025 event, held in Abuja in celebration of International Women’s Day, brought together industry leaders, HR professionals, and advocates to discuss policies aimed at fostering women’s advancement in the workplace.
Hosted by Mrs Bukola Maiye in collaboration with Women International, the event focused on driving workplace policies that promote gender equity, leadership development, and fair opportunities for women across industries.
The discussions centred on key issues such as gender representation in corporate leadership, workplace flexibility, and creating more inclusive work environments.
In her opening remarks, Maiye called for deliberate policies to ensure gender balance in organisations.
“Creating an enabling environment for women to thrive is not just a matter of diversity but a strategic imperative for businesses. Policies must be designed to remove barriers, encourage professional development, and ensure equal representation at all levels,” she stated.
The event featured expert-led panel discussions, networking opportunities, and strategies for organisations looking to implement gender-sensitive HR policies.
Among the key resolutions, participants advocated for structured mentorship programs, accountability frameworks for inclusivity, and workplace reforms that support women’s leadership ambitions.
The organisers pledged to ensure that conversations from the event will continue to drive advocacy efforts and influence policy implementation to create lasting change in workplace culture.
