The News Digest Nigeria, a leading Nigeria online news platform has announced the commencement of its periodic podcast titled “The Facts,” a programme created to discuss various happenings in accordance with the theme of the month.
A release by the platform on Wednesday added that “it is an unconventional history class where we educate our listeners about different things that happened and are happening in Nigeria or celebrate milestones depending on the theme of the month.”
“The Facts comes up bi-monthly with different themes for the month”, with four recorded episodes which will be aired via Apple Podcast, Spotify, Soundcloud, and Iheart radio.
Beginning March, a month to celebrate International Women’s Day, it disclosed the release of four part episode about four Nigerian women in history. The women are: Gambo Sawaba, Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti, Flora Nwapa, Margret Ekpo.
On the 8th of March, life and background of Gambo Sawaba, will be released. This will be followed by Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti on March 15, Margret Ekpo for March 22, and Flora Nwapa for March 29.
“Where we get to discuss the lives they lived, their journey to activism and the way the impacts they made in Nigeria’s politics,” it added.
