BREAKING: Nigerian Army Responds To Igboho’s Statement Telling Yorubas To Protect Themselves Against Herders

The Nigerian Army has responded to a recent statement made by Sunday Adeyemi, also known as Sunday Igboho, an activist for Yoruba nationalism, who advised Yorubas to defend themselves against robbers and herders in order to return to their farms.

The Nigerian Army responded by declaring that any action taken by Sunday Igboho that would be deemed unlawful will be done so without the consent or knowledge of the armed forces or other security agencies operating in the nation.

According to Sahara Reporters, the spokesperson for the Defence Media Operations, Maj Gen Edward Buba, made this disclosure in a viral video. The Nigerian military went on and expressed its readiness to work with Sunday Igboho, to flush out terrorists in Yoruba land.

He went on and noted that if what Sunday Igboho said is to make the situation better, that he is welcomed, but if what he (Igboho) is saying is that the Nigerian Army should be disregarded by Nigerians, it means that he is against Nigeria’s constitution.

It should be recalled that Sunday Igboho on Monday, told his loyalists not to wait for the government to protect them before taking steps to fight herders and bandits, who are denying them access to their respective farmlands, in Yoruba land, thereby urging them to protect themselves.
