The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has announced that all changes to National Identification Number (NIN) details must now be processed exclusively through its newly introduced self-service modification portal.
This measure is aimed at safeguarding Nigerians from identity theft and ensuring the security of personal data.
NIMC has also issued a strong warning against the use of unauthorised websites for NIN modifications, cautioning that such actions could expose individuals to fraud and data breaches.
The commission has assured Nigerians that the official modification portal is secure, reliable, and accessible at any time for those needing to update their NIN details.
To prevent fraudulent activities and unauthorised access, NIMC has urged the public to use only the official self-service platform, available at www.nimc.gov.ng.
