Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed, the Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has announced that corps members will receive a monthly allowance of N77,000 starting from February 2025.
Ahmed made this announcement on Thursday while addressing the 2024 Batch ‘C’ Stream II corps members in Katsina.
He explained that the increased allowance is included in the 2025 Federal Government budget.
“This month (January) has already concluded, but once the budget is passed, you will begin receiving N77,000 instead of the usual N33,000 next month (February),” he stated.
He emphasised that the increment was approved by the Federal Government and encouraged corps members to show their appreciation by committing fully to their service year.
The NYSC DG also reiterated his dedication to the welfare and security of corps members, assuring them they would not be deployed to areas with security concerns.
“We will not assign our corps members to locations with security threats. Rest assured that any place we send you will be safe and secure for your service,” he affirmed.
