An All Progressives Congress (APC) Chieftain, Senator Anthony Adefuye has said that the South-West has never produced a president in Nigeria.

When reminded of former President Olusegun Obasanjo who is known to hail from Abeokuta, Ogun State, he responded saying no and that the former Head of State is an Igbo man from Anambra State.

He said this in an interview on Plus TV’s One on One program.

According to Adefuye, Obasanjo’s father was installed as Obi of Onitsha and his identity is not a hidden fact.

He also mentioned that the last three presidents who served Nigeria were all Igbos.

He said;

Senator Adefuye: South-west has never been president before.

Interviewer: But we’ve had President Olusegun Obasanjo.

Senator Adefuye: No, Obasanjo is an Igbo man. He came from Anambra state, his father is an Igbo man.

Interviewer: Do you have evidence to this sir?

Everybody knows, it’s not a hidden fact. His father became the Obi of Onitsha.

Zik was also an Igbo man. The last President is an Igbo man. Three of the presidents we had from the south are all Igbos. They are from the southeast.
