BREAKING: Ogun Graduate Killed in cold blood, buried by the roadside for preaching

Oluwatosin Onadipe, an Olabisi Onabanjo University computer science graduate from Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State, is said to have been struck with an iron rod for preaching by a motor park official in Ago, Odogbolu Local Government Area. On December 17, after leaving his house to attend a program at the Redemption Camp, he was reported missing. After being dropped by police, his body was eventually discovered by the side of the road and interred by Odogbolu Local Government Area officials.

According to PUNCH, Raymond Onadipe, the father of the deceased, after several efforts to reach his son proved abortive, reported a case of a missing person at the Ago Police Station. Some days later, his phone rang and was picked up by someone who said he found it on the roadside. The father became suspicious and went to Ode-Remo to retrieve the phone. The person who picked up the phone introduced himself as the Seriki Hausa of the community and said two of his boys who went to Ijebu-Ijesa in Ago-Iwoye found the phone. The police arrested those who found the phone and moved to Ago Police Station. On December 25, the father was called that a corpse was buried along the roadside by health workers from Odogbolu Local Government Area, which was said to be his son’s corpse.

The father noted that the circumstances surrounding his son’s death took another turn when an eyewitness told his eldest son that the deceased was allegedly hit by an official of the Ago motor park when he was preaching on the premises on the day they last spoke with him, which the police confirmed after several back and forth. The police initially denied picking him up and said he had no injuries on his body. However, when one of the police teams that went to the park was asked to show the pictures taken at the scene, there was blood all over his body.

The state Commissioner of Police, CP Abiodun Alamutu, confirmed the incident and said the suspects had been taken into custody while preliminary investigation was on to unravel the circumstances behind his death. The father is appealing to the police authorities to bring the killers of his son to justice.
