BREAKING: Ogun Police Decry Increasing Rate Of Missing Persons In the State

Ogun State Police Command has called on residents of the state to be on high alert, noting an increase in reports of missing persons.

Naija News reports that the Command’s Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo, urged parents and guardians to desist from allowing their children to use commercial transportation with strangers.

In a statement on Tuesday, the Command Spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, disclosed that while only a small fraction of the affected individuals were located, a significant number regrettably did not return home.

Ogunlowo advised youths in restless situations to raise alarms through social media and other digital communication means.

“As a proactive and community-oriented force, the Command is committed to raising public awareness about this concerning trend and encouraging everyone to prioritize their safety by maintaining a heightened sense of security as a way to avoid becoming a victim.

“The Commissioner of Police has outlined these measures as essential guidelines to keep the residents of Ogun State informed about the most pressing issues.

“The Police Commissioner in the state, Lanre Ogunlowo, based on insights from rescued individuals, urges parents to refrain from using commercial transportation services for their children with unknown strangers.

“Additionally, restless youth are encouraged to activate digital communication and sharing features on their mobile devices while traveling, especially during moments of distress,” it read.
