Temitayo Oluwatuyi, the Secretary to the Ondo State Government (SSG), has passed away.
Oluwatuyi, fondly known as ‘Tukana’, died on Saturday from complications related to a road accident.
While the state government has yet to officially confirm his death, a reliable source informed our reporter in Akure that Oluwatuyi succumbed in a private hospital on Saturday.
The source explained that his passing came just weeks after he was hospitalised for injuries sustained in the car crash.
“Sadly, we lost him today. The doctors made every effort to save him, but he could not pull through. He is gone,” the source told Daily Trust during a conversation.
Oluwatuyi was appointed SSG by Governor Lucky Ayedatiwa on January 24, 2024, shortly after a minor reshuffle of the state cabinet.
The late politician, a native of Akure, played a pivotal role in galvanising support for Governor Ayedatiwa’s re-election in the November 16, 2024, Ondo governorship poll.
His death has sent shockwaves through the ancient town of Akure, where many are seen wearing expressions of deep sorrow at his residence.
