One Ifeoluwa Adekunle, an undergraduate of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, AAUA, Ondo State, has been murdered by some unknown persons.
Adekunle, a 300-level student in the Department of Economics, was grisly murdered by the yet to be identified assailants at the weekend.
She was found dead in her room at her off-campus hostel after she was stabbed to death, some students who spoke on the condition of anonymity disclosed.
One of the students stated that the incident had caused trepidation among other students within the university town.
He stated that the case had been reported to the police, adding that the killing was not cult-related.
“We have reported the murder case to the police, but it seems they are slow in responding to our demands for identifying and tracking those behind this dastardly act,” he said.
While confirming the incident, the Police spokesperson in the state, Funmilayo Odunlami, said investigation has begun into the case.
Noting that the student’s remains have been deposited in the mortuary, Odunlami added, “We are not sure if it’s a cult-related activity because she was murdered in her room situated off the campus, but investigation is going to unravel the cause.”
