BREAKING: PDP Group Says Fubara Is Likely To Be The End Loser Of Rivers Crisis

According to Nigerian Tribune, on the 1st of January, 2023, “Rivers crisis: Honour truce brokered by Tinubu, PDP group urges Fubara”.

The PDP Frontliners, a group within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has maintained that Governor Siminalayi Fubara is likely to be the end loser of the crisis in Rivers State; as the group insisted that the Governor would waste most of his years in Office watching over his back instead of working to break the records that his predecessor and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has set.

PDP Frontliners had said, “Now that they have signed a peace accord, it behooves on the Governor and not Wike, to ensure a restoration to normalcy because the likely end loser of a prolonged fight is Fubara – who will spend the next few years watching his front and back instead of working to beat the record of his “father” and in any case, turbulence in Rivers State now will, in the long term, be blamed on the Governor, and not Wike, whose tenure turned Rivers into a mini political capital of Nigeria, saw rapid urban renewal and brought an end to the regular bouts of violence in the State.”

The Nigerian Tribune reported that the PDP Frontliners, through its Publicity Secretary, Jonah G. Sylbriks, said Fubara should work on the terms of the agreement between him and Wike. The group noted that many of those who are encouraging Fubara to keep up the fight with Wike do not want him in power.
