The Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has set up a committee to interface with parties involved in the fight over the National Secretary position.
The committee will be led by Tanimu Turaki, a former Minister under President Goodluck Jonathan.
He is expected to report back to the BoT as soon as possible.
According to Adolphus Wabara, Chairman of the BoT, who read the communique to journalists at the party secretariat, the crisis will be resolved.
He also stated that the Acting National Chairman, Ambassador Umar Damagum, had assured the BoT that the National Executive Committee (NEC) would be convened in February to resolve the issues.
Senator Samuel Anyanwu and Sunday Ude-Okeye both lay claim to the National Secretary position.
Anyanwu had left the position to contest the Imo governorship position, which he failed in the bid to be governor. In his absence, the South East Caucus of the party endorsed Sunday Ude-Okoye as his replacement. However, after losing the position, Anyanwu refused to relinquish the position.
