
The Petroleum Technology Association of Nigeria (PETAN) and the Abia State Government have joined forces to establish ABTAN Energy, a strategic partnership aimed at advancing oil exploration and production in the state. This collaboration marks a significant step towards harnessing Abia’s hydrocarbon resources, boosting economic growth, and creating job opportunities within the region’s energy sector.
The Petroleum Technology Association of Nigeria (PETAN) formally presented the Certificate of Incorporation for ABTAN Energy, a joint venture between the Abia State Government and PETAN, to Governor Alex Otti on Tuesday, 4th March.
Leading the PETAN delegation, Chairman Engr. Wole Ogunsanya (FNSE) provided an update on the progress made in establishing the new energy company.
Governor Otti expressed enthusiasm and optimism, commending PETAN for its dedication to the project. He also acknowledged his pleasant surprise at the extensive groundwork already completed by PETAN in launching the initiative.
The PETAN delegation included senior executives such as Engr. Dr Innocent Akuvue (Publicity Secretary), Engr. Ibe Chubby Ibe (Conference Chairman), Okey Ukaegbu (Assistant Board Secretary), and other key members.
ABTAN Energy is expected to play a pivotal role in harnessing Abia’s oil and gas resources, stimulating economic growth, and generating employment opportunities for residents. Discussions on the company’s operational strategies and exploration framework remain ongoing.
