BREAKING: Plateau SUBEB Warns Contractors On Power Of Attorney

Executive chairman of the Plateau State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Hon. Sunday Amuna, has warned that it would not accept the issuance of Power of Attorney (PoA) from any of its contractors.
He gave the warning at the bids opening ceremony for the award of contracts for civil works from the first to fourth quarter of 2023 and 2024.
According to him, there is no room for Power of Attorney, and any contractor that succeeds in getting the award must be the one to execute the project.
“Anyone who is not interested should bring the letter of award to the board so that we can reassign it to a better contractor. Do not bring any Power of Attorney, the board will not tolerate that. If you have received our 30 percent mobilisation fee before bringing the Power of Attorney, you will cough it out, representatives of anti-graft agencies are here, we will send such contractor to them to recover our money,” he said.
Amuna also warned them not to cut corners because the board would not accept any shoddy job. He stressed that their fund was intact and they should execute projects according to specification to save cost and get paid immediately.
He commended Governor Caleb Mutfwang for approving over N 4 billion as marching grant for 2023 and 2024, and urged the contractors not to disappoint the board by ensuring that they do the right thing at the right time.
