BREAKING: Police Arrest 19 Over Owo Cult Killings

The Ondo State Police Command has apprehended 19 suspects in connection with the deaths of four individuals in the Owo community, located in the Owo Local Government Area of the state.

Naija News reports that among the victims of the violent incident, which occurred on Monday, was a prominent leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Owo, Fisayo Oladipo.

The newly appointed Commissioner of Police in Ondo State, Wilfred Afolabi, disclosed the arrests during his visit to Owo.

His visit aimed to assess the situation and ensure compliance with the curfew imposed on the town by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

Afolabi, who officially assumed his position on Tuesday, reassured residents that peace had been restored to the area.

Speaking during the visit, Afolabi said, “We are in Owo this morning to monitor the level of compliance with the curfew imposed on the town by the state government.

“So far so good normalcy has returned to the town and there is calm and peace across the town.”

He confirmed the arrests, stating, “So far we have 19 suspects in our custody and we have only four people confirmed death in our record.”

The police commissioner also issued a stern warning to those disrupting peace in the community.

“And for the lover of peace, we can assure them that there will be conducive environment for them.

“But for those who hate peace they will not find it easy with us because whenever they go to we will follow them and laws of the land will caught them,” Afolabi declared.

Authorities continue to investigate the killings to bring those responsible to justice.
