BREAKING: Police Arrest Notorious Drug Dealer In Kano

A 32-year-old notorious drug dealer, Sulaiman Danwawu who resides at Tudun Yola Quarters in Kano has been arrested by operatives of the Kano State Police Command.
Commissioner of Police in Kano State, CP Ibrahim Bakori, announced Danwawu’s arrest on Friday at a press briefing in Kano.
The commissioner who also described the suspect as an unrepentant and serial offender, explained that he was also arrested with several cartons of tramadol.
CP Bakori added that the suspect will be charged to court accordingly.
“The suspect appears to be a recidivist and an unrepentant serial offender, as he was earlier on arrested on 31st July 2022, with 500 cartons of the same tramadol tablets and charged to court accordingly,” he stated.
The CP also revealed that the Command has made tremendous arrests of suspected criminals between 23rd April and 9th May, 2025, recovering firearms, illicit drugs and vehicles.
“The command arrested a total of 78 suspects and recovered various exhibits including firearms, dangerous weapons, illicit drugs and stolen properties,” the CP said.
The added that four cartons and four sachets of suspected pregabalin tablets, 63 pieces of suspected diazepam tablets, 47 pieces of suspected tramadol tablets, three cartons of pentazocine injection, 25 bottles of codeine syrup, five parcels and 65 wraps of dried leaves suspected to be cannabis sativa were also recovered during the period.
He listed other items recovered to include eights motor vehicles, three tricycles, two motorcycles, counterfeit currencies of N311,000, and 198 pieces of USD100.
The CP further announced that the corresponding impact of the menace of thuggery (fadan daba), mobile phone snatching, armed robbery, car theft and other criminal activities reduced drastically in Kano State during the period.
He then assured the public of the ommand’s resolution and steadfastness in ensuring that peace continues to prevail in the state.
