BREAKING: Police Arrests Suspected Cultists for Allegedly Fighting Over Non-Attendance Of Monthly Meeting, Payment Of Dues In Edo

Police officers attached to the Edo state command, have arrested five suspected cultists for allegedly fighting over the non-attendance of monthly meeting and payment of dues.

Public Relations Officer, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, told newsmen in Benin City that the suspects; Emeka Eke, Chizoba Okolie, Samson Ochonobor, Friday Agbebayo and Julius Eguasa, were arrested for conspiracy and cultism.

Nwabuzor said Julius Eguasa was allegedly beaten by the other four suspects, for failing to attend their meetings as well as not paying monthly dues to the confraternity before they were arrested.

He said the alleged cultists who are members of Eiye confraternity, were arrested while fighting at Ramat Park, Benin City, by the operatives of the anti-kidnapping and cyber crime unit of the Command.

The police spokesperson further said that the suspects, who are currently helping the police with investigations, will soon be charged to court.
