BREAKING: Police Confirm Death Of Ex-Immigration CG, Give More Details

The Police in the Federal Capital Territory has confirmed the death of a former Comptroller General of the Nigerian Immigration Service, David Parradang.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, March 4, the spokesperson for the FCT police command, Josephine Adeh said, contrary to trending news reports, Parradang died in an Abuja hotel while receiving a female guest.

Recall that reports had it that some criminals suspected to be kidnappers had trailed the former NIS CG and killed him in the process of trying to abduct him.

However, in the statement, Adeh said the reports about kidnapping and killing of Parradang is untrue and should be discountenanced.

Her words, “In light of the recent reports alleging that retired was kidnapped and subsequently killed, we wish to clarify the facts surrounding this incident to ensure accurate information is disseminated to the public.”

“On March 3, 2025, at approximately 12:00 PM, Mr. Parradang arrived at Joy House Hotel, Area 3 Junction, driving a black Mercedes Benz. He checked into the hotel, paying a sum of twenty-two thousand naira (N22,000) for one night’s stay,” Adeh said.

According to the FCT police spokesperson, shortly after that, the former NIS CG directed the hotel attendant to escort his guest to his room.

She said that Parradang’s guest left the hotel at about 4 pm the same day but did not leave his room after the lady had left.

“Mr. Parradang did not exit his room after the lady left. Around 04:00 AM of 04 March 2025, a friend who is a military officer, concerned for his wellbeing, traced him to the hotel. Upon arrival, the hotel receptionist and the officer proceeded to his room, where Mr. Parradang was found deceased, seated in a chair,” Adeh stated.

She also noted that the police station in Durumi area of the FCT was immediately notified and officers were instantly deployed to the hotel to secure the area and take photographs.

In addition, Adeh said that relevant information and evidence were gathered while the integrity of the crime scene was secured by the police operatives.

“The body has been transferred to the National Hospital for necessary procedures, and hotel staff are currently cooperating with Police investigations,” she added.
