BREAKING: Police, G9 Confirm Plot To Scuttle Governorship Elections In Kano

Uneasy calm pervaded the city of Kano, and its environs following a report by the police, and 9 Kano Gubernatorial candidates that some politicians are plotting to scuttle March 11th governorship, and state Assembly elections in the state.

Kano state police Command had on Monday issued a statement signed by SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa that they are in possession of information that “some disgruntled politicians are planning to import thugs to the State with the sole aim of disrupting the forthcoming Gubernatorial / State Assembly Elections slated for Saturday, 11th March 2023”

SP Kiyawa in the statement quoted the Commissioner of police to have warned “all thugs, mischief makers and miscreants to stay clear of the State as the Command will not relent in its effort at dealing decisively with troublemakers”

The police assured the general public that they would in “liaison with other security agencies in the State ensure the arrest and diligent prosecution of all suspects. The thugs will also be charged to court alongside their sponsors. “

In it reaction to worrying signs, a consortium of 9 Kano Gubernatorial candidates raised alarm by desperate politicians in the state to scuttle the poll.

Briefing newsmen in Kano on Monday, leader of the group, Malam Ibrahim Khalil said “There are also report of moves to provide security agencies uniform to political thugs during the March eleventh governorship election.”

The call by the 9 guber candidates came barely 5 days , the major opposition party in Kano, the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), accused the outgoing governor of Kano state, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Plotting to unleashed mayhem during the poll.

The G9 Gubernatorial candidates are Malam Ibrahim Khalil , ADC Governorship candidate, Alhaji Bala Muhammad Gwagwarwa, SDP governorship Candidate, Alhaji Sadiq Aminu Wali, PDP Governorship candidate, Alhaji Salihu Tanko Yakasai, PRP Governorship Candidate.

Others are Alhaji Yakubu Uba Gaya, YPP Governorship candidate, Alhaji Ibrahim Muhammad, APP Governorship candidate, Hajiya Aisha Mahmud NRM Governorship candidate, Hajiya Furera Ahmad, Booth Party Governorship candidate, Malam Sha’aban Ibrahim Sharada, ADC governorship candidate

Ganduje Imports Bandits From Niger, Chad Republics

The New Nigeria People Party (NNPP) Kano state chapter has allergies that the ruling All-prograssive congress APC in Kano and it’s leader Governor Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has hired Bandits and professional killers to Distrupt the in coming gubernatorial elections schedule on 14th March, 2023.

The NNPP Chairman in Kano Umar Haruna Doguwa at a press conference today through Kano state Senatorial candidate Dr. Baffa Bichi said the ruling APC in Kano has hired thousands of bandits from Chad and Niger republic as well as from Katsina, Kaduna, Niger, Bauchi, Gombe states and brought into the state with heavy weapons including guns, machetes and were position across 44 local government areas.

Bichi said “It is also worthy of note to inform you that Mr. Ganduje has granted
pardon to a number of convicted murderers who were sentenced to
death by competent courts of law. Only late last year he commuted the death sentences of these murderers to life imprisonment and last week he granted pardon to all of them.”

“A typical example is the notorious Mohammed Abbas with prison number K/35C/2008 who was serving his sentence at MSCC Minna New. We are raising this, because we are aware that Kano State government has raised a team of government officials to travel to the correctional facilities where these murderers are serving their sentences to collect them, return them to Kano to join the gangs of bandits with the intention of terrorizing the good people of Kano and
disrupting the conduct of the March 11, 2023 elections.”
