BREAKING: Police in Kano issue stern warning ahead of planned October 1 protest

The Kano State Police Command has issued a stern warning to residents against participating in the planned nationwide protest set for October 1st.

Chief Superintendent Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the Command’s spokesperson, addressed the media on Monday, declaring that the police will not tolerate any demonstrations that could lead to violence.

Kiyawa stated, “We have concluded all necessary arrangements to provide adequate security during and after the Independence Day celebrations.

“We urge all residents to cooperate with the police and other security agencies while participating in the festivities responsibly.”

He said the police have also implemented security measures at key locations throughout Kano to thwart any potential threats related to the planned protests.

Kiyawa reiterated the importance of public safety and encouraged citizens to celebrate responsibly while respecting the rights of others.
