BREAKING: Police issue strong warning to Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, give reason

The Police in Kogi State have warned Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan against carrying on with her planned homecoming and Sallah rally in her constituency.

Miller Dantawaye, the Kogi State Commissioner of Police in a statement on Tuesday, said the rally is against the proclamation made by the state government which banned all political rallies in the state.

Signed by the spokesperson for the Kogi Police command, William Aya, the statement said the rally scheduled to take place in Kogi Central Senatorial District should be cancelled in the interest of peace.

According to the CP, intelligence gathering by the Police shows that some hoodlums are planning to hijack the rally and create and atmosphere of violence in the process.

He also said that the police cannot afford to jeopardise the current peace and serenity enjoyed in Kogi State at the expense of a rally.

He said, “In view of the security threat received on the planned rally, the Kogi State Police Command is therefore advising the organisers to cancel the event so as to avoid any breakdown of law and order in the State. As the Command will not hesitate to apply the full wrath of law on any one who causes disturbance of peace and order in the State.”
