Recent allegations have surfaced claiming that actor Kim Soo Hyun and the late actress Kim Sae Ron were secretly in a romantic relationship for six years.
However, Kim Soo Hyun’s agency has strongly denied these claims, calling them “completely unfounded” and stating that they plan to take legal action.
The rumours began when Kim Sae Ron’s aunt gave an interview on Garosero Research Institute, a controversial YouTube channel, stating that the two actors started dating in 2014 when Kim Sae Ron was still in middle school.
According to her, the relationship lasted six years, and it was Kim Soo Hyun who influenced Kim Sae Ron’s decision to leave YG Entertainment and join Gold Medalist, a company co-founded by Kim Soo Hyun and his cousin Lee Ro Be in 2020.
The aunt also alleged that neither Kim Soo Hyun nor the agency properly supported Kim Sae Ron, especially during her drunk driving scandal in 2022, which led to a $13.7 million (20 billion KRW) damage claim.
She further claimed that Kim Soo Hyun lent Kim Sae Ron $480,000 (700 million KRW) to help with the situation but later demanded repayment, leaving her financially and emotionally devastated.
According to Garosero Research Institute, Kim Sae Ron had written about her struggles in March 2024.
In this alleged statement, she confirmed the romantic relationship and claimed that she was misled into signing with Gold Medalist under unfair conditions.
She also stated that after borrowing money, she was eventually cut off and received a threatening repayment notice, which she suspected was sent by Kim Soo Hyun’s cousin.
Kim Soo Hyun’s agency Gold Medalist has dismissed these allegations as false and malicious, accusing Garosero Research Institute of spreading misinformation for their own benefit.
They expressed deep sorrow over Kim Sae Ron’s passing but condemned the claims as defamation and announced plans to take the strongest possible legal action.
Garosero Research Institute responded aggressively, challenging Kim Soo Hyun’s agency to sue Kim Sae Ron’s family as well.
They also questioned why Kim Soo Hyun did not attend Kim Sae Ron’s funeral when other celebrities, including Won Bin and IU, were present.
As the controversy escalates, public opinion remains divided, with some supporting Kim Soo Hyun and others demanding further clarification from his agency.
