BREAKING: PSV Eindhoven share spoils with Borussia Dortmund in Champions League draw

Borussia Dortmund had an edge coming into this match and it proved to be the case as they ended up getting a lifeline in the first-leg tie.

They scored a crucial goal away from home as it ended 1-1 apiece; they took the lead in the contest thanks to a goal from Donyell Malen.

Malen scored in the 24th minute courtesy of an assist from Dortmund teammate Marcel Sabitzer to make it 1-0.

Despite further attempts from both sides in the first half, it finished 1-0 in favour of Borussia Dortmund at the half-time break.

After the intermission, the Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven were fortunate to get back on level terms as they were awarded a penalty.

Luke de Jong stepped up to the responsibility and converted from 12 yards for his side to level matters in the contest. He scored the penalty in the 56th minute.

Both sides will square off in the reverse fixture in Dortmund with the Germans expected to edge the Dutch side at home.
