The lawyers representing embattled American music mogul Sean Puffy Combs, aka Puff Daddy, have filed a lawsuit to suppress evidence of his ‘freak-offs’ parties.
In a series of documents filed in the Southern District of New York on Sunday, Puff Daddy’s attorneys accused federal investigators of making “false statements and omitting exculpatory evidence” when they applied for search warrants to search his properties and go through his online activity.
According to the attorneys, this was “intentional, or at the very least reckless,” and they requested that a federal judge suppress all of the evidence gathered from the searches, arguing that the excessively broad warrant violated Diddy’s Fourth Amendment rights and “presented a grossly distorted picture of the facts.”
The lawyers contend that on September 17, federal authorities arrested the rapper for racketeering conspiracy, s£x trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution after purposefully making false statements in their probable cause affidavit.
‘’The probable cause statements were intentionally misleading,’ the attorneys wrote.
‘’But it worked—the government got its warrants, leaked damaging information, and then executed its military-style raids at Combs’ residences.
‘’Through this duplicity, the government obtained evidence—including multiple electronic devices with an enormous amount of information about his entire life—and an enormous and unfair tactical advantage.” Puff Daddy’s attorneys added in the suit.
