During a recent interview on Channels Television, Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) Adeleke Agbola shared his apprehensions regarding the political climate in Rivers State. Agbola stressed the importance of Governor Sim Fubara treading carefully amidst the current circumstances, subtly suggesting the potential threat of impeachment hovering over the political horizon.
Agbola painted a vivid picture, likening the prevailing serenity in Rivers State to the unsettling stillness of a graveyard. Despite recent peace efforts, he underscored the lingering tensions that continue to simmer across the entire state.
In his own words as seen on Channels Television tonight, “The peace that we’ve had in Rivers State in the past few months is like the peace of a graveyard. Efforts have been made to douse the tension between the governor and his political godfather, Nyesom Wike but it appears that the solution has not yet been found. But it’s expected that they will be frictions here and there and everyone is trying to assert his own power as to what goes on in Rivers State.”
