Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim has explained why winger Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho were left out of his squad for the Manchester derby.
The two players have been regulars under the new coach but have hit the headlines in the last few weeks for the wrong reasons.
Why Rashford and Harnacho were dropped
Rashford and Garnacho have been regulars on the Manchester United team for the last two seasons, but their performances, especially in the last few games, have not been great.
Rashford, for instance, has regressed drastically in the last two seasons and has continually received intense criticism from fans who feel he’s not doing enough.
Garnacho, on the other hand, is having a decent season, but his performances have attracted critics.
Since replacing Erik ten Hag, the new coach has rotated the team, but today’s decision seems like a big one.
The England star has registered seven goals this season, while Garnacho has eight, per Transfermarkt.
He has explained their omissions.
“I pay attention to everything, the way you eat, the way you put your clothes to go to a game. Everything. I make my evaluation and then I decide. There is a communication after the last training. They are alright. They had training this morning and I was there. They trained really well.” Amorim said via journalist Simon Stone.
Manchester United are looking to pile more misery on Manchester City, who have won once in 10 matches.
Amad and Hojlund’s altercation
Legit earlier reported that Amad Diallo and Rasmus Hojlund had a over Viktoria Plzen.
The altercation came after they refused to pass to each other in the game’s latter stages.
Garnacho responds to critics
Legit also reported that Garnacho responded to critics on social media with a six-word message.
The Argentinian winger’s decision has been called into question. A fan even confronted the youngster and asked him to improve his first touch.
