BREAKING: Senator Akobundu’s Digital Skills Acquisition Programme Second Batch Kicks Off

Registration for the second batch of Senator Austin Akobundu’s Digital Skills Acquisition Programme for the youth of Abia Central Senatorial District began on Saturday, February 1, 2025.

The NOSTROCOM House in Umuahia buzzed with activity as young people from across the district gathered to register for the programme.

This initiative aims to empower 1,000 youths and follows the successful completion of its first batch on 28th December 2024, which saw 186 participants—three from each of the 62 wards within the constituency—graduate after training in various modern, high-demand, and commercially viable ICT fields.

Building on the success of the first batch, the new cohort will officially commence training on Monday, February 3, 2025.

Participants will receive instruction in Web Design, Forex Trading, Software Development, Graphic Design, Data Science, and Digital Marketing.

This skills acquisition programme reflects Senator Austin Akobundu’s ongoing dedication to human capacity development, particularly in empowering youth to transition from job seekers to job-creating entrepreneurs.
