BREAKING: Shehu Sani prepares to join APC, as ex-senator’s supporters join ruling party in Kaduna

Supporters of Shehu Sani have defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna state in preparation for the ex-senator’s move to the ruling party.

Senator Sani, who represented Kaduna Central in the National Assembly from 2015 to 2019, was a PDP gubernatorial aspirant in the 2023 general elections.

His supporters, from across Kaduna’s 23 local government areas, converged at the 2023 APC Campaign Office at NEPA Roundabout, carrying posters of Sani, signalling his return to the APC.

According to the defectors, they have persuaded Sani to officially join the APC, a move they believe will happen in the coming week.

One of the key leaders of the defection, Monday Jaji, Sani’s former Campaign Director in the People’s Redemption Party (PRP), revealed that he has been advocating for the senator’s return to the APC for over two years, citing his record of achievements during his tenure.

“Shehu Sani is a man of the masses and a champion of truth,” Jaji stated.

He made mention of Sani’s contributions to his constituency, including the construction of seven hospitals, the distribution of over 200 transformers, and assistance to the poor.

Kaduna State APC Chairman, Air Commodore Emmanuel Jekada (Rtd.), expressed his delight at the influx of new members, stating that their return will strengthen the party and propel it to greater heights in the state and national politics.
