
The wife of the Vice President, Hajiya Nana Shettima arrived in Owerri, the capital city of Imo State on Tuesday, May 6.
Shettima visited Owerri for the commissioning of the 100-bed capacity Remi Tinubu Mother and Child Care Centre in Awo-Omamma General Hospital.
She was received by the governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma and his wife Chioma.
The centre will serve as a facility for the improvement of healthcare services for mothers and children in Ino State.
With an array of top-notch facilities and services, the centre has been designed to cater to the unique needs of its patients.
It also features a maternity ward for pregnant women and new mothers, a labour and delivery room equipped for safe childbirth, and a neonatal care unit for premature or critically ill newborns.
In addition, there is a pediatric ward, an obstetrics and gynaecology department for women’s reproductive health, and ultrasound and imaging services for diagnostic purposes.
