BREAKING: Sowore Responds After DSS Allegedly Assaulted Them At The Court Premises, During Nnamdi Kanu’s Trial

Omoyele Sowore, a Nigerian human rights advocate and the Democratic Alliance presidential candidate in 2023, has responded to claims that he and his group were physically attacked by DSS agents while Mazi Nnamdi Kanu was on trial.

In response, Mr. Omoyele Sowore said that he had come to the Federal High Court today to handle his post-trial proceedings and to watch Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s trial. He also mentioned that, as per usual, the DSS had unlawfully entered the courtroom, ambushed his team, and pounced on them. He continued by saying that they were barred from accessing the court grounds and that their phones had been confiscated.

Mr Sowore made this disclosure in a post he made on his official X handle on Monday afternoon, noting that his team refused to back down, despite threats that came from the DSS.

In addition, he noted that the DSS noted that they will mark him down over tomorrow’s planned NLC protest, and that he informed them that tomorrow will take care of itself. He also noted that they made sure that the stolen phones are returned to

He wrote: “I was at the Federal High Court again today, first to attend to my post-trial processing and also visit the court to witness @MaziNnamdiKanu’s trial, as usual the lawless @OfficialDSSNG who illegally took over the court premises pounced on our team assaulted us seized our phones and prevented us from entering the court premises.

“However, we refused to back down despite threats by the DSS officials that their DG, Yusuf Buchi said they were to ‘MARK’ me down over tomorrow’s planned @NLCHeadquarters protest, I told them tomorrow will take care of itself! We ensure that the stolen phones are returned to us. #RevolutionNow #EndHungerNow #WeCantContinueLikeThis.”
