Senator Shehu Sani has taken to his verified X (formerly called Twitter) account to express his opinion on how there has been some great financial loss in the country, and that pushed him to a conclusion that the problems of our country are man made and at the same time homemade, and that generated some reactions.
His words echoed that the country has experienced significant financial losses due to various reasons, including the misappropriation of funds amounting to 22 trillion dollars via unlawful methods.
Additionally, tax exemptions have led to a loss of 17 trillion dollars. Furthermore, an attempt was made to obtain three billion dollars in loans from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), but this money could not be accounted for.
Moreover, twenty-six billion dollars were channeled through Binance with no record or evidence of its whereabouts. These issues stem from both external factors as well as internal corruption within the government.
In his words, the human right activist said “22 trillion looted through ways and means; 17 trillion lost to Tax waivers. $3 billion borrowed from IMF couldn’t be found; $26 billion funneled through Binance without a trace; Our Country’s problems are man made and home made”
